 Re: 2010 stories
Hey, I'm here. I read the board every day. Just don't have any stories to tell, so want to hear everyone else's.
Or I could join Robin in gate stories from prior years. Every time you think you've heard it all, someone comes up with something new.

 Re: 2010 stories
Being my first year I have to say it looked as if everything ran smoothly, just too bad that the bathrooms had to be shut down because of a girl who didn't know the difference between the showers and the bathroom that is so nasty and unfair that the rest of us suffered. Anyways a job well done to the staff next time though I would like a ride in the golf cart from my tent to the hill so my feet wont be swollen up like they are now

Hey!! I would like to give my thanks to EVERYONE - I don't think we ran out of water this year, and had to close the bathrooms/showers -Someone put in some time and effort - as Lee (yet another retired staff member would say ) if its yellow let it mellow, if its brown flush it down! Long Live Tah Mah Potty!

 Re: 2010 stories
Well my firts post since the Vous should be right here.
My day on Thursday started like it does just about every Vous Thursday. Up at 4-4:30 am raring to go. At 7:45 head out to meet the crew at the local Dunkin. We head out from there at 8am 25 minutes in driving down Rt495 south about 3 miles south of Rt93 (practically still home) and I hear a "noise" and I feel the bike go to one cylinder. I reach dow and check plug wires to the plugs then to the coil thy are good. Hmmm??? I hear a "noise again" and I immediatelly shut her down and pull over. As soon as I stop I try to restart it all I get is a loud "CLUNK" not good. I call my older brother to come rescue my bike and bring it home for me. I send the rest of the crew on their way 6 bikes and a chevy s10 pickup I stay with my bike and I send the driver of my truck to ride on his dads bike. His friend stayed with me. So 8:30 and waiting.....and waiting.....my brother shows up at 10:15 and we load my bike on his trailer and off we go me and this kid to the Vous and my brother back to my house to drop off my bike. It's now 10:30 and we are cruising 75-80mph all the way well about 12:30 we pass the Chevy s10 and the bikes arriving on Batter Street 45min before them....I'm at the Vous No bike but I made it. I pull a little trick like Edrider I am on the phone with the Jersey Princess she is in line about a mile up the road and when the space opens I drive up and get in line AWESOME!!! The lack of holding pen is missed but we get in in daylight. Our site is taken so we moved down the road a bit to a new spot for us. We are here at it is time to have fun which we did all weekend. The motor is out of the bike and hopefully I can gather the financial resources to rebuild her. The last work on it was 1988 so I got 22 years on the last build more than anyone can expect.

Ya he kept slipping off he couldn't see the tire due to the fairing and of course I bet alcohol had something to do with it.

 Re: 2010 stories
I was a Dumpsta and I arrived Thursday afternoon after a series of stupid errands that included a trip to the world's grossest WalMart in Albany and a packie run for ice and Vern's beer ... which they didn't have ... she was great enough to drink what we got her LMAO ... after all that, we got in earlier than we ever have, and were all set up while it was still light out. Cocktails and hors douvres were out by 9 PM and company started pouring it ... excellent night. Friday morning JC, Scott, Vern and Mare came by and rousted Dumpsta out of his slumber for the perfect morning ... then wandered up to the gazebo, missing the boardie pic by 20 minutes ... nothing new there! Sorry guys. It was good to see who was left! Wandered around with Flooz, Chainsaw, Kaytee and Cheyenne some, Chey brought some great Suck'n'Blow shots! Saw the Wall of Death, and down by the rodeo for a bit, then it was time for Rendezvous Idol. Was that fun! Squish had talked me into it. I went FIRST, sang "Mercedes Benz" after smoking two packs of cigarettes and drinking ... drinking ... drinking ... and 1st Reject = 2nd Place. The video crew was there, hoping to make this year's! Best part was meeting Sky ... and seeing all the smiling faces. The woman who took third was *pissed* ... oh well, whaddya want for singing "I Will Survive" at the 'vous ... they guy who won was literally in tears of joy. I treasure that trophy, AND the t-shirt, bag, and certificate. Attachment: 34155_1535052977465_1269040778_1446663_4477807_n.jpg Got a great smile from Sky: Attachment: 34155_1535053017466_1269040778_1446664_1081933_n.jpg Coy and Roy (Oy!) came back to camp for a bit and we helped their buzz ... Friday night was spent up on the hill visiting. Unfortunately, when we got back to camp, Dumpsta got mad at me ... we had a vicious fight over NOTHING ... and didn't peek back out until Sunday morning. Never again, that's all I gotta say about that shit. Missed a whole damn day, but we rallied on Sunday, made friends with some great guys camped next to us ... old Bronx Bombers ... found my new jacket and scooped some t-shirts, bathed in ice-cold water from the spigot, and didn't head for home until around 3PM. Been missing the 'vous ever since ...

You can barely identify anyone in the pic especially the rider or the bike.

 Re: 2010 stories
Simple short storyabout "The Lady at the Lake" did any one else see the women tanning Friday around 1030AM on the dock on the left side at the lake just after you passed the traffic light and store, I noticed all these bikes going by hitting their brakes and horns it almost caused a few rear enders. I approached the spot and their she was on a lounge on the dock tanning topless!! I was told by some local people that in New York at beaches , lakes and parks it is not illegal for a women to be topless, if thats so I love that law it was a good prelude prior to hitting the Vous also, evidently she was there up till 2PM gotta love it!!

 Re: 2010 stories
It is legal for women to be topless in State Parks/Beaches. I do not believe the law applies to County or Town parks.

 Re: 2010 stories
Here is what I found.
n 1992 New York's highest state court ruled that women could be topfree in public. Since 1992 women in the highly populous State of New York have enjoyed the right to bare their chests whenever men could do so. As one New York Justice wrote in his concurring opinion, "One of the most important purposes to be served by the equal protection clause is to ensure that 'public sensibilities' grounded in prejudice and unexamined sterotypes do not become enshrined as part of the official policy of government." In a curious loop of history, the female rights movement in the United States began in Rochester, New York, with Elizabeth Cady Stanton as a principle pioneer. In her time Elizabeth Cady Stanton was ridiculed for wearing bloomers instead of a floor-length skirt. In 1986 seven Rochester women held topfree picnics, resulting in New York's highest court ruling female topfreedom legal in 1992 (see above). Now Cathy Stanton, the 63-year old great-great-granddaughter of Elizabeth Cady Stanton, is a plaintiff in the Florida suit.
